The Heating Process
The outdoor furnace heats water, moves it through insulated underground piping and transfers that heat into your existing indoor heating system.

The Water Jacket Heats
A water jacket surrounds the firebox. Heat from the fire raises the temperature of the water surrounding it.

Hot Water Travels Indoors
A circulation pump moves the heated water through insulated underground supply and return pipes.

Heat Transfers to Your System
A water-to-air or water-to-water heat exchanger transfers the heat to your furnace, baseboard or radiant system.

After the insulated underground pipes enter your furnace room, a heat exchanger is installed. Depending on your system, this may be a water-to-air exchanger for a forced-air furnace or a water-to-water exchanger for baseboard and radiant in-floor heat.
Because the system is thermostatically controlled, your home or business maintains the same even, comfortable heat you expect from a conventional heating system.
